* Asia To Lead Global Economic Recovery
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has said that the economy of developing Asia - which includes China, India and the Southeast Asian region - will grow 7.5% this year and 7.3% next year.
The ADB's Asian Development Outlook 2010 (ADO 2010) published recently said that strong economic performances in China and India, the region's economic powerhouses, and a rebound in global trade together with ongoing fiscal and monetary stimulus packages have improved this year's prospects for the entire region. The organisation said: "The stimulus measures last year will continue to fuel investment in the region, while private consumption is likely to increase as income prospects pick up and unemployment declines."
Regional growth in the region was only 5.2% last year - massive compared to the USA and Europe but an eight year low for the area - mainly due to falling demand from the rest of the world.
* Why Not Invest In Slovenia ?
Slovenia is a small country, but it has a growing modern economy. Plus it is also positioning itself as a trading location at the heart of Europe, linking the markets of East and Southeast Europe. Often referred to as 'the best kept secret of Europe' Slovenia has finally emerged from its former Eastern European past and taken its place as a modern market economy. Its main industries are automotive, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, electrical and electronics, ICT, logistics and distribution, machining and metalworking. The Invest Slovenia website can offer you useful background about the country, industry information, regional information, facts and figures and also travel information. There are also some useful free reports you can download. It also offers SloExport, a database of Slovenian exporters. Website:

* Cyprus Trade ServiceThe mission of the Cyprus Trade Service is the promotion of exports of products and services from Cyprus abroad together with the co-ordination of the external commercial policy of Cyprus. In order to achieve this objective the Trade Service is co-operating with the Trade Centres of the Ministry abroad, the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce, the Industrialists and Employers Federation, various other associations, foreign embassies in Cyprus as well as the wider business world. The major activities of the Trade Service include the export promotion of agricultural products, of manufactured products, of services, the promotion of international relations, the co-ordination of EU policy and import and export licensing. They have a useful website here:

* Recommended Resource: SuperpagesIf you want to find a supplier, or even a customer, there's a lot to be said for going to the telephone directory (known as the 'white pages' in many countries) or the good old 'Yellow Pages' business telephone directory and simply looking up what you want. It's quick, it's easy and it's free. However, it's not always easy to find these directories for the various countries of the world. Now Superpages has the answer. Basically, Superpages offers a portal that will link you up to the telephone directories and 'Yellow Pages' of most countries worldwide helping you access BILLIONS of potential suppliers and buyers. Want to find buyers or suppliers in Cyprus, the Maldives or Vietnam .... well you can find them here (and many more). Better still, most of the directories linked to are in English. Website:

* Why Not Trade Motor Parts ?The credit crunch means that more drivers worldwide are looking to repair their cars rather than buy new ones. So motor parts and accessories could be a good thing to import-export. If you're interested in looking at the possibilities here's a handy site: Automotive-Online.com is a B2B marketplace connecting global buyers with manufacturers and suppliers of automotive components and parts. There's also trade news, details of trade associations and trade fairs and other useful information to help you research the opportunities. Take a look -

* How Blogs Can Help You Get More Trade LeadsWith a little bit of effort, a blog could help you pull in more trading contacts. Here are a few ideas: Blogs (or web logs as they're also known) are basically just online journals or diaries. If you can write a diary you can write a blog. Most bloggers use a web-based blog provider. These are very user-friendly and provide a template, the tools you need to update your blog and hosting too. The biggest and most well-known provider is Blogger at
http://blogger.com (owned by Google).
You can set your own blog up in an hour or less! Once your blog is set up you need to commit to posting to it regularly. Daily is best, but two or three times weekly will do the job. It needn't be difficult - just write what you would write in a diary. Tell readers about what deals you've done and what deals you're looking to do. But add a bit of background interest, don't make it all hard sell. With a blog there's no guarantee you will get any business .... but blogging is fun and free, so it's well worth thinking about.
