* Brazil's Economy Grows In Third Quarter
Brazil continued to be one of the few countries growing in the recession, with GDP rising 1.3% to US$455 billion in the third quarter of last year. However, the growth was below the predictions of most experts, which ranged from 1.5% to 2.6%, and Brazil's Finance Minister Guido Mantega had earlier predicted 2% growth. Exports were up 0.5% from the second quarter but down 10.1% from the same period in 2008. Imports were up 1.8% from the last quarter and down 15.8% from the third quarter in 2008. Brazilian household consumption was up 2% from the second quarter and 3.9% from the same period last year. Brazilian Central Bank President Henrique Meirelles welcomed the figures, saying the country's economy had resumed growth after a short period of recession.

* Spanish Economy To Recover In 2010 ?
The Spanish economy may begin to recover in 2010, according to a recent statement from Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero. During a meeting with executives of major Spanish companies he said: "The Spanish economy will gain momentum with imminent character. The train of recovery is pulling near us. If we do what we can and enforce the reforms of the labour and pension systems with strengthened efforts, this train will collect speed."

As well as being a major producer of goods Spain is also a major market of 46 million people. It can also offer importers and exporters a toehold into the very important and growing South American market. * Opportunity - Clean Energy Technology Products
If you're looking for new products to trade, then you could give clean energy technology products - which include products like solar panels and wind turbines - a closer look. According to a recent report by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) clean energy technology products will become the third largest industrial sector worldwide over the coming years. The report says that clean energy technology had a sales volume of just US$930 billion in 2007, but that by 2020 it will be worth over US$2.3 trillion! The report, titled 'Clean Economy, Living Planet' ranked clean energy sales globally. In terms of energy sales relative to GDP, Denmark, Brazil and Germany were leaders, while China came in sixth and the United States ranked nineteenth.  Meanwhile, Germany was the leader in worldwide sales of clean energy technologies, followed by the United States. China was rated fourth.
