Metin Ipek, off-licence proprietor, is making £4,000+ a month just one year after taking our course. He and other Wade World Traders explain how they started their successful Import/Export agencies...
Calibration equipment from the UK to the Middle East
Metin Ipek, off-licence proprietor, Romford, UK

'I'd been keen to try Import/Export. but what stopped me was lack of funds. Then my father-in-law saw the Wade World Trade website - I sent away for the course and discovered that I could avoid the need for capital. I hadn't the first idea what to buy but after doing the research that the course told me about, and going through the leads provided by the newsletter, I was talking to UK manufacturers within a matter of weeks. Now a year later I have agreements with two UK suppliers and I'm earning over £4,000 a month in commission. Wade World Trade promised me it would be easy - and it was.'

Organic olive oil from Portugal to Ireland and The Netherlands
Jamie Atwill, local government worker, Northampton UK

'I was on holiday with my girlfriend in Galicia, where she comes from. We popped over to Portugal for the day and found this fabulous olive oil for sale at what amounted to a farm shop. We took details, but only on returning to the UK did we think about importing it here. My girlfriend did a bit of research and came up with the agency approach as the best for us - because we didn't have any capital to spare. And just the very next day I spotted one of Wade World Trade's ads in the press. Between us we got started and by the end of the first manual and within six weeks we had negotiated an exclusive deal with the farmer for Ireland and the Netherlands, and were already getting samples to wholesalers all over the two countries. Within a year we had over a dozen customers buying the olive oil on a regular basis. We then moved into organic wines from the same region of Portugal, and cheeses followed soon after. Today we are clearing £90,000 a year.'

Branded coffee from Spain to Germany and the UK
Ruthy Maynard, housewife, Portsmouth UK

'A trip to Gran Canaria is what did it.  They had this really delicious coffee in our hotel and I asked the breakfast staff to show me the brand. It sounds daft but when I got home I really missed the taste of that coffee, so I did some research - this included phoning up the hotel to get as much information as I could. Anyway, long story short (actually quite short), I approached the roasting company and there were amenable to giving the UK market a try. Together we've found a profitable niche and we're now expanding into Germany. All in all it's been a huge lark, and very profitable too!

Solar-powered cooling systems from China to Africa
Martin Stuart, Scaffolder, Leeds UK

'My wife sent away for the Wade World Trade course - but it was me who got started! Scaffolding isn't really much of a career once your'e beyond 30 and I was a bit concerned about what would happen next. So at the tender age of 27 I took the plunge with this.  I followed the detailed instructions contained in the course, picked the solar sector as one with a future, and to my surprise found the interest was there almost straight away. When I got my first agents' agreement with a supplier (I'd just turned 28), I was over the moon and flush with doubling my income overnight. Since then I've got a couple more suppliers on board - all in the solar area, with buyers in Europe too, and I'm making SERIOUS money. I still call myself a scaffolder but the truth is I'm spending most of my time being an agent - and loving it!

Dried mushrooms from Slovenia to Belgium
Sandrine Chadron, travel consultant, Lille France

It is true that I am interested in food and always on the lookout for foodie things when I travel. A friend of mine married a Slovene and on a visit there I went to one of Ljubljana's food markets and was very taken with dried mushrooms being marketed by a Slovenian company - with the fungi being sourced from across the Balkans. The quality was extremely high yet the price very competitive. And there was no problem with exporting with Slovenia in the EU. So I took the plunge with the Belgian market and within weeks had found several wholesalers and catering establishments eager to buy. Next stop is the French market - as there are many more mushrooms where these come from.  It's early days - but my income is already averaging €1200 a month.'

Cycle Accessories from Korea to the UK and Ireland
Trevor Grant, Belfast Northern Ireland

'I wasn't in the slightest bit interested in anything to do with bikes before I got involved in Import-Export agency. What happened? I just followed the instructions I was given in the Wade World course. I found the accessories manufacturer through the leads supplied with the course, and my investment - including buying the course and setting up a limited company - has been no more than £1,000. But my income is already £2,000 a month. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.'

Furnishing textiles from India to the UK and Ireland
Devi Patel, newsagent, Nottingham, UK

'I was born in England, but I have a cousin in India who suggested several times that we should try Import/Export. She knew several Jaipur textile companies  which proved a great place to start. Wade's course explained very clearly what we needed to do to bring our "bright idea" to fruition. Within a matter of weeks we had identified buyers across the UK, and soon after we had an agent's agreement in place with a topnotch Indian manufacturer. Things are going well and we are growing our business with other suppliers in the decor area.'

Soaps and fragrances from France to Australia and New Zealand
Stephen Hickman, Melbourne Australia

'A few weeks after setting up my Import/Export Agency a French company that makes beautiful soaps and fragrances asked me if I was interested in representing them in Australasia. We struck a deal and I began to look for customers on their behalf following the step-by-step instructions in the Wade World Trade course. It's gone really well. I'm now earning AUD6,000+ a month working in the hotels and hospitality sector mainly, with a move into the Chinese market in prospect.'

Soya supplements from Nigeria to Ghana and Cameroon
Vincent Taiwo, NHS technician, Coventry UK
'There's a lot more to Nigeria than the oil industry and I spotted an opportunity that could get me involved in the trade boom happening all over Africa. My knowledge of Nigeria helped, and it was a great place to start. But my next venture - involving elderly care market in the UK and Scandinavia - will bring me back closer to home.'

Toothbrushes from China to Greece
Radley Pinto, aircon engineer, Charlotte NC USA

'"A change is as good as a rest'." True in life, and true in trade. '

'I felt very strongly that there was good, honest money to be made after the 2008 Banking crash, and this guiding thought led me, via Wade's import/export course to end up making some serious $$$s. How? Well, by of all things, importing "Value" toothbrushes from China to Greece and elsewhere in the eastern Med. Why would anyone want to pay €3 for a toothbrush when you've just lost your job and unemployment's at 30+%? It seemed like a no-brainer to me...'

Replacement car parts from Korea to the USA
Clive Harrison, former retail manager, Liverpool

'I decided right from the beginning that I wasn't interested in earning anything less than a really big sum of money. I couldn't afford to give up my job so for eighteen months I ran my Import/Export Agency early in the morning, after work at night, and all weekend. My girlfriend was about ready to leave me when I finally closed the deal I had been chasing - replacement car parts made in Korea and exported to the USA via Canada. I estimate I sent over 3,000 faxes, emails and letters to hammer it down - but with a payout of £8,700 a month for the foreseeable future - it was worth it.'
