Real life success stories

Vijay Patel, a newsagent, made £21,500 commission in his first four months. He and other Wade World Traders explain how they started their successful Import/Export agencies...
Solid teak garden furniture from India to the UK.
Vijay Patel, newsagent, Sheffield, UK

'I was born in England, but I have many relatives in India including a cousin who suggested several times that we should try Import/Export. What stopped us was lack of capital. We could raise a few hundred pounds - but not enough to start buying up stock and shipping it. Also, we didn't know what to buy. Then I sent away for the Wade World Trade course and discovered that it was possible for my cousin and I to act as middle-men without needing a penny in capital. Since my cousin knew a factory making teak garden furniture we started with that and within a matter of weeks we had sold over 2,500 individual items -all to a single distributor. The commission was £21,500. Wade World Trade promised me it would be easy - and it was.'

Organic olive oil from Portugal to Ireland and The Netherlands.
Jamie Atwill, local government worker, Northampton

'I was on holiday with my girlfriend in Galicia, where she comes from. We popped over to Portugal for the day and found this fabulous olive oil for sale at what amounted to a farm shop. We took details, but only on returning to the UK did we think about importing it here. My girlfriend did a bit of research and came up with the agency approach as the best for us - because we didn't have any capital to spare. And just the very next day I spotted one of Wade World Trade's ads in the press. Between us we got started by the end of the first manual and within six weeks we had negotiated an exclusive deal with the farmer for Ireland and the Netherlands, and were already getting samples to wholesalers all over the two countries. We have nearly a dozen customers already buying the olive oil on a regular basis, and we are about to move into organic wines from the same region of Portugal.'

Garden Fencing from India to the UK.
Meryam Gul, shopkeeper from North London

'I always wanted to get involved in International Trade, as I saw relatives in Cyprus make a handsome living from it. I sent away for the Wade World Trade course and discovered how to get involved in import and export without risking any capital - good news as I had few savings. The fencing opportunity just fell into my hands - an ad in Global Opportunities alerted me to an Indian supplier seeking representation, and when I contacted him we really hit it off. The course has shown me how to track down buyers for him, and the product is a good one and virtually sells itself. My husband looks after the shop now, I'm projecting an income of £50,000 in this, my second year of trading.'

T-Shirts from Indonesia to the UK.
Nat Lee, university student, London

'My father sent away for the Wade World Trade course - but never bothered to open it! I started to read it when I should have been doing my homework. I thought "this is easy, I could do this" and more for a laugh than anything else decided I'd try and import some plain cotton t-shirts. I followed the detailed instructions contained in the course and to my surprise inquiries began to flood in - both from manufacturers and possible customers. When I brokered my first deal I didn't even have a bank account in which to deposit my cheque...a whopping £2,200! Not bad for an eighteen year old. I shall definitely be going into Import/Export when I leave university.'

Dried Wild Flowers from South Africa to France.
Corinne Hamper, florist, Birmingham

'Working in a flower shop I could see how much profit there was in dried flowers. After reading the very practical Wade World Trade course I then advertised my services as they suggested - which cost me nothing. I received an inquiry from a South African dried flower producer who granted me a sole agency for Europe and supplied me with ample samples to kick off my business. With the help of Wade's advisory service I was able to obtain a list of possible customers and within a few weeks orders began to flood in. It's early days yet - but my income (all from repeat orders) is already worth £760 a month.'

Gold jewellery from Thailand to Australia.
Mark Boyden, IT consultant, Manchester

'I've never visited Thailand and I've never visited Australia, either. Yet, here I am making commission from a deal between a manufacturer in one country and a chain of jewellers in the other. How? I just followed the instructions I was given. My total outlay - including the cost of the Wade World Trade Course - has been no more than £800. My income, however, is already £1,900 a month. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the course.'

Replacement car parts from Korea to the USA.
Clive Harrison, former retail manager, Liverpool

'I decided right from the beginning that I wasn't interested in earning anything less than a really big sum of money. I couldn't afford to give up my job so for eighteen months I ran my Import/Export Agency early in the morning, after work at night, and all weekend. My girlfriend was about ready to leave me when I finally closed the deal I had been chasing - replacement car parts made in Korea and exported to the USA via Canada. I estimate I sent over 3,000 faxes, emails and letters to hammer it down - but with a payout of £8,700 a month for the foreseeable future - it was worth it.'

Canned foods and bottled drinks from France to Malta.
Miguel Guttierez, care worker, London

'I launched my Import/Export agency and nothing much happened for several months apart from a few inquiries from manufacturers interested in having me represent them. I always wrote back politely stating my terms but nothing came of it. Then a food and beverages company in France asked me if I was interested in representing them in all the English-speaking countries (which is lucky, because I only speak English and my native tongue - Portuguese). We struck a deal and I began to look for customers on their behalf following the step-by-step instructions in the Wade World Trade course. To my surprise a wholesaler in Malta placed a huge order worth £1,300 a month. I keep pinching myself because I can't believe it has happened.'
