Wade World Trade in Africa

Wade World Trade has been marketed in South Africa since 1989 by Brian Pitman Marketing, which operates out of offices at ARMA Park, Unit 3, 27 Bond Street, Ferndale Randburg.

Programme options with a focus on local needs
International trade is exactly that - international. There is no specifically South African way of conducting trade; it is a truly universal activity. However, whilst the base training manuals originate out of the Wade UK Head Office we do make a small number of amendments to take account of local and regional issues, institutions and organizations as well as our own local south/southern African trading priorities.

You will see from the Wade website that their Executive 'Certificate' Course provides six manuals, more than we offer here. This is because we have taken a more circumspect approach for our local Southern African market on the basis of what we have learnt about programme needs (and financial capacities) over the years and kept our local options straightforward and directed to priority requirements.

Our Manuals
  1. How To Start Your Own Import/Export Agency
This takes you through from basic business organisation and set up to key issues such as product selections, sourcing suppliers/principals, negotiating agreements, finding markets, making initial trial orders, essential trade issues (terms transport, payment, plus more)
  2. Essential Practice and Procedures in Import/Export
This manual becomes your prime long life reference point for each new transaction. Each chapter deals with and explains simply about issues such as export pricing, packing and transport, export documentation, import procedures, physical movement of goods and principles of freight rates for each of air, sea, overland etc., getting paid and safeguarding payments, financing of foreign trade, international legal aspects.
  3. Growth Opportunities in Global Trading
Whilst, ultimately, all trade is between countries (or companies within countries) more and more countries, especially smaller ones, are attempting to strengthen their negotiating positions by joining with their neighbours to form regional trading blocs.

This manual examines four of these trading blocs, namely The European Union, Eastern Europe, South East Asia and our own local Southern African region where SA's export trade has developed substantially in the past decade. Also included are chapters covering cultural issues and international trade development generally.
  4. Local Environment & Country Report
A number of large countries continue to stand alone as single markets. Even if they are nominally members of regional trading blocs they are so dominant by virtue of size that they are considered single country markets in international trading context.

This manual also examines four such countries, namely USA and Japan (both mature and well established) along with China and Russia (both emerging markets). Also included is the local environment of markets plus a chapter, which looks at doing business with the lesser-developed countries of the world.
